Wen PFP? Can Devs Do Something?
Just as we had shared on 14th December 2021, we committed ourselves to making a PFP project for our community. So wen PFP? Well, building a project takes months especially if you’re building what we are trying to build to compete in today’s market so we ask for your patience and support; to get the artwork ready, to market the project aggressively, to connect with and rebuild our community, to seek advice, to form partnerships so that we can deliver something pretty awesome. Our background as women and African puts us at a disadvantage because we have to work 100 times harder to get seen and be appreciated. It is difficult but, this is just one of those challenges we will overcome because WE ARE TAKING OVER!!!
However, wen PFP? I cannot confirm much but here are some details that I can share with you. For those of you in the Discord, we confirmed that the artwork for our PFP project is inspired by the character Mort.
Mortdecai (commonly known as Mort) is a main character in All Hail King Julien. He also features in the Madagascar movies. He is an incredibly cute and somewhat innocent mouse lemur. OMG! Does this mean we are Lemurs now? Well.. yes and no. The artwork and project is indeed inspired by the cuteness and innocence of Mort but when it came to naming the project, we could not find anything that works with lemurs that doesn’t exist already; “Lazy” Lemurs? “Little” Lemurs? “Lemur” Lemurs? If you know us, then you know we are no copy-pasta team. Okay. So what does this mean?
Welcome to the Bush Baby Club (BBC). But, bush babies are a kind of animal on their own. True but then.. this is Web 3.0 and we can do whatever the fuck we want right? BBC is the kind of brand we would like to create and build for the community. This is the online identity we would like to have for ourselves and anyone else that connects with them. So Bush Baby Club you say? YESS! GM Bush Babies!! Bush Baby Club is a community driven PFP NFT project where the NFT will grant you access to members-only benefits. Wait what? It’s a DAO? Is that what community driven means? No idea. Lol. Side note: PFP stands for Profile Picture so it will be portrait-style.
What are the plans for the Bush Babies?
At this moment, we can confirm that we have already partnered with Custom Toys UK to create 500 Plush Toys at our expense. 400 of these toys will be sent out to random community members and the remaining 100 will be donated to children/charity. More details on this will be shared as we draw nearer to launch, production or distribution. Also, the community wallet will be used for community suggested and voted for projects/ideas. We would also like to use our platforms to teach/onboard more people into NFTs maybe through a podcast?! We’ll see.
So wen Bush Babies? Soon. Either late February or March. And guess what? That is either Natasha or Laura’s birth-month so it will definitely be a !vibe.
